Argentina beat Mexico 3-1 to seal a quarter-final tie against Germany - on a day that saw plenty of goals and some refereeing controversy at the World Cup.
Mexico started the game well and rattled the Argentine crossbar early on, but found themselves a goal down after Carlos Tevez headed Argentina in front despite being a yard offside when the ball was played to him by Lionel Messi.
The situation was masked by a pair of quickly retreating Mexican defenders that gave the illusion that Tevez was onside when he made contact with the ball - but clearly with the benefit of a replay the Argentine striker was offside.
Mexico only had themselves to blame for the Argentina's second goal after centre-back Osorio scuffed a pass on the edge of his penalty area, allowing Higuain to snatch the ball, round goalkeeper Perez and slot home for a 2-0 lead.
Midway through the second half Tevez scored his side's 3rd goal, a thunderous drive from 25 metres out that was simply unstoppable, and that killed the game as a contest.
Mexico scored a consolation goal in the 71st minute when Javier Hernandez turned an Argentine defender on the edge of the area, and then shot powerfully inside the near post beyond Sergio Romero.
